You think everything says a lot about how right the Administration has been about everything.

Well, that really isn't true. I think the media accounts have terribly understated the positive developments in Iraq, as well as other things.

But the point I made is highly significant. The point totally refutes the notion that we should have deferred to the UN; that argument simply cannot be sustained if you believe the account of Aziz (which I wouldn't, except for the fact that it sounds right).

You think everything says a lot about how right the Administration has been about everything. Do you blame Clinton when it rains and praise Bush when the sun shines?

John, its interesting how DR ignores this paragraph:

"The public record of French and Russian back-channel contacts with Hussein on the war's eve is thin and ambiguous. Former Russian prime minister Yevgeny Primakov, long close to Hussein, made an announced visit to Baghdad in February and a secret trip just days before the war's opening on March 20. A few weeks later, after Baghdad's fall, Primakov held a news conference to explain that, at his clandestine last-ditch meeting, he had urged Hussein to resign."

And is so willing to believe an informant when I don't know of one Iraqi informant who has given us the straight scoop. Anything to vindicate an administration and a war that are not vindicable.
