Bush's tax cuts were NOT aimed at the consumer nor to create jobs. They wre aimed at the investor class. Since he's built this 'growth" on a mountain of debt and there are still no jobs (3 million of them disappeared in fact) any boasting by Bush's part has to be taken with a huge grain of salt. Remember, the growth rates were high during the Vietnam War too. But it took about 15 years to pay off those war debts resulting in a long-burdened economy. In fact we still haven't paid off much of that war debt.
