I remember back when I was a kid, my brother(2 years older than me) did that coupon and refund stuff for a while,
He even subscribed to some magazine too.
He really made some money.
I bet he cleared 50 bucks a week and had coupons for free stuff and half offs, etc that he gave my mom.
I sewar, I can remember having some very weird, no name brands of junk around the house during that time.
But the point is, for those who have the time to spend collecting, cutting, filing, mailing, etc, it can add up to some noticeable savings.

But you're right, for the average person/family, they are just a waste and a scam to entice the shopper of the family into buying this or that product.
