JF, Sincere question: then why do the conservatives hate him so much? Is Clinton truly a "fiscal conservative," or was he one just to win votes and stay in office? If the former, then why is he supporting every single budget-busting social program that is being passed by Congress and signed by Bush? Why couldn't he pass any of these when he was in office? Because of the political consequences? The guy has taken the easy way out on just about every tough decision he had to make. To him, it was all about image. God knows, but it couldn't be much worse than the health care mess we are in today. Maybe we don't want to start that debate. Conspiracy theory: What if Democrats want to exacerbate the health care situation so much that voters will only want to go for Hillary-care? Sounds far-fetched, but then again, Democrats in California wanted to prolong the budget crisis in order to push for higher taxes. Tenchusatsu
