They do but you can hear them. I was a coin roller for a bank when I was 15 and you can clearly hear a silver coin hit the platter. I'd always take a pocket full of change with me so if I found an old coin I could just replace it. I have a bunch of coins that are in the pre 1860 range and the beauty is they only cost me face value. The bank asked me to remove the silver for them and place it in a jar so I did....1 for them 10 for me <g>. I knew when I helped unload bags of cash from my first Brinks truck that I wanted to be wealthy....now if someone would just fargin die and leave me some money maybe I could be LOL!!
