Unilateral action in Iraq? I saw a coalition. The fact that France and the UN didn't participate doesn't make it "unilateral."

France was a big trader with Saddam; most likely in material breach of the UN resolutions. Very embarrassing for them.

That wouldn't compromise them, would it?

The UN couldn't enforce its own resolutions, which Iraq flagrantly violated for 12 years.

That wouldn't be grounds for giving up on the UN "resolve," would it?
