Your method, is to adopt a pose of outrage and surprise, point to someone else in the crowd, and shout "Thief!". Then, while the crowd's attention has shifted, and the accused is defending himself, you slip away. This technique works especially well, if whoever you are pointing at happens to be a thief. This method can used whether the accusation is theft, apartheid, colonialism, human rights abuses, ethnic cleansing, wars of aggression.
