If anyone really wants to try to convince JAMA to change their policy, the following link might be of value...

Personally, I believe that ESPR is in violation of Reg FD. They fully understood that material insider information given to JAMA would be selectively disclosed; and that this would significantly disadvantage any non subscriber to JAMA.

I believe this selective disclosure violates both the spirit and the letter of Reg FD.
