"Low taxes, a large military, traditional social values." >>> IMO, that's a very accurate description of Reagan's approach. >>> Too bad he was never able to reduce spending enough to fulfill any of his repeated promises to reduce the deficits (all that piled-up debt, and the interest costs tend to reduce the beneficial effects of lowering taxes.) >>> And too bad that commitment to 'traditional social values' resulted in a bigger, more powerful and intrusive federal government... and tended to conflict with his stated aim to reduce the size and power of the government. >>> Always watch what politicians DO, not what they SAY.
