In the county where I live, a liberal Democrat beat a conservative Republican for Chairman of the Board of Supervisors. She ran on a platform to limit property tax increases. He said, no, let's be sensible, we need these revenues to maintain the services that you want. Guess what...he won. There are some intelligent voters around. People who have don't have only one thing on their limited little minds - taxes.
