This war was and is wrong -- and I have no problem agreeing that it is wrong on both sides. For our side, it is wrong because it was unilateral, fought without legitimacy and without benefit of a large contingent of allied troops. So what? You've stated your opinion, fought against starting this war, and your side LOST the debate and the congress overwhelmingly passed an act to authorize the use of force!! Blame them later.. refuse to vote for them again.. Run for office yourself.. (snicker, snicker).. But now there are US service people in harm's way and your continued whining is DOING NOTHING to assist them in completing their mission. In fact, views such as yours are PROVIDING AID AND COMFORT TO THE ENEMY, causing them to believe that if they kill our people, they can defeat our forces and drive us out, restoring Saddam's government. Did you ever play football GST? Ever be a member of any team or even a music band? In each of these instances, you play as a team, even if you think the plays being called are insane and won't win victory.. You play INSIDE the system, trying to alter the policy, WITHOUT UNDERMINING the team spirit or morale. I'm ALL FOR YOU dissenting against HOW we're fighting this war, so long as you provide viable alternatives that are realistic and accomplish the mission of creating some semblance of a legitimate government there. But whenever I see you of anyone else claiming that terrorists and brutal totalitarian regimes are somehow worthy of being protected, I'm going to call you on it.. We may, or may not, have had legitimacy through the UN for the actual invasion, BUT WE HAVE IT NOW AND THE CPA IS UNANIMOUSLY APPROVED BY THE UNSC.. (15-0) So for your to claim we need to just pick up and leave is UNDERMINING THE UN AND ITS MISSION TO RESTORE ORDER AND STABILITY TO IRAQ. As well as threatening to launch the entire regional war (because they won't just stand by and permit Iraq to fall into chaos). Hawk
