I am amazed that they are even studying a return to the draft. I think they would face massive political resistance, much worse than Vietnam in the population, and much quicker. I would guess many would opt for civil disobedience, and refuse to serve also - so they would have to factor that in. It's one thing to defend this country, but that is not what we are doing as we occupy Iraq. In fact, I think we are making it much worse - so you could argue that Bush is helping Osama with his continued occupation of Iraq. I think they must have gone of the deep end now... JMHO.
