"One is libertarian: keep the government out of my personal business. The other is respect for humanity: don't keep me alive against my will.

The government has long been in the business of protecting the weak or helpless against the more able who would do them harm or do away with them completely. There is nothing anti-libertarian about that.

Depends on your definition of humanity I guess. Respect for the right to exist with equality of justice rises to the highest level of "Respect for humanity" whether that right is extended to a corporate executive or a disabled infant. Nothing is more degrading to humanity than, 1) killing an innocent to advance a political agenda, 2) killing the less useful and have nots to make life more convenient to the haves, or 3)Considering one innocent human being expendable as a convenient benefit or satisfaction to all of society.
