re: If in fact the US contribution is disproportinate to the rest of the world, then you do have a right to be pissed off

it is disproportionate and it is never enough for UN

re: I don't think that we should give up on the UN

we need an international body but UN failed measurably. We don't need WWIII to realize that UN is in the way of the peace rather than helping it as we realized it about League of Nations after WWII.

re: $86B to rebuild Iraq. There must be hospitals/schools/daycare/elderly in the US

86B is not waste as it is with UN money. We can hope that it would be a beginning of process that would bring stability to ME that in a long run would be beneficial to the not only to US but to the world.

re: I replied that we were probably subsidizing cheap US gasoline prices at the pump.....

clever answer but the correct one is that Canadian government sucks and if not for natural resources and proximity to US your semi-social system would leave your country bankrupt long time ago and you know that that is true statement

re: US that told the UN to go take a "flying f###" at a rolling donut".

indeed we are paying fortune to UN when UN is unwilling to enforce its own rules. Recall that it took US military forces even to bring inspectors back in. France took a central stage at UN defending Iraq while having selling Iraq weapons inspite of UN's own treaty.

Lets not forget how libia and syria are heading human right commissions

re: geez, those New Yorkers will shoot the bastards:o)

UN chose the location wisely 'cause down here in texas we would :-))
