Actually the Republicans can win without Christians. They can win in the same way Arnold won. I think that is really the trend. The GOP is really being pushed to the left. That is why they cannot deal properly with abortion and why they spend just as much of my dollars on hogwash as Democrats. It is also why they really don't appreciate a public voicing of the social conservative agenda. In a decade, Christians in the GOP will be where the Christian Coalition is.

But that is okay. I'm actually a bit excited about it. We really do need to be free of the GOP, as much as that stings me to say. I am convinced of it. And the GOP needs to be free of us.

I am increasingly of the belief that as social conservative Christians, our role is no longer to directly affect national policy. (I think you think it never was our role. But I really do think in our system it was our civic duty). I no longer think we have a duty to this system because, let's face it, it legally murders children of all things and it is about to force us to societally uphold homosexuality and a host of other corruptions of what we are. We have no obligation to this.

I just can't yet bring myself to let the godless left win the whole bread basket. Though I don't even want the bread, I don't want them to have it. I think the role of the Church is to be a nagging conscience to the world - telling the truth whether it is in season or not. Let the heathens whine and froth at the mouth. They will either be freed by the truth or the truth will utterly condemn them. Either way, it is not my call.
