three big reasons we do NOT depart Iraq quickly

1. we must keep the oilfield production firm (motive for war), and that requires perhaps 12 more months of upgrades, not to mention airtight security to prevent more pipeline explosions, if we are to make secure a significant regular flow of crude oil

2. airbases are critical to hold onto (motive for war), ever since expulsion from Saudi Arabia, and that requires a critical mass of troops, since these scattered military bases are the centerpieces for security deployment in the entire Middle East

3. Sunnis, Shiites, Kurds will absolutely kill each other for power, in this nation which for several decades has endured a "winner take all" mentality, so strong security is essential to prevent a gradual breakdown into a religious civil war (what I expect is occurring)

no way, Jose'
your grapevine scuttlebutt is very reasonable, credible
but it clashes with the reality of #1, #2, #3

early indications are clear
bomb attacks are directed precisely at the domestic security forces expected and trained to take over
they are being intimidated into staying clear
resistance is well aware of what is necessary for US Troop withdrawal
THEY WANT A BATTLE ROYAL

what we are seeing is the reality-based justice
deceptive basis for war with WMD claims
false promises on duration and cost and deathcount
diversion from Halliburton and Harken
it will not work
reality dictates a continued endless troop presence
this aint VietNam, it is 100x worse
we will be there deep into the next prez term
