These hikers should have read some books before they were making fool of themselves<g>. Long March was NOT done in a straight way/direction. In order to get rid of all kinds of chasing, attacking, surrounding, and blocking over the sky and on ground of the GuoMingDang army, a lot of roads had to be walked multiple times. One winning battle in GuiZhou Province called "Chi Shui Zhi Zhan", the Red Army had to cross 4 times of Chi Shui River in order to finally defeat the Guo Min Dang army. And Mao was the ONLY genius who could plan this type of guerilla warfare. Just some historical facts, whether people here like it or not.
