This poll has a pretty clear question: "Will you vote for Bush or against him in the coming elections?"

THE SURVEY BY Marist College’s Institute for Public Opinion found that 44 percent of the voters questioned said they planned to definitely vote against the Republican president while 38 percent said they would support his re-election.

I have little respect for those who trumpet polls as though they provide some sort of substitute for an argument. Yes, they can and usually do reflect an agenda.
