I kept about half of CAU thinking I'd get into next year for tax purposes, but that POS ran up to 2.75 (from 1.95) in about three days

POS? hardly. you got a good price and, at least for the moment, can get back in a little cheaper. but sometime in the next few months, whether it's today or next january, it's going to take off again

in case you didn't see it, heinz commented on it the other day:

i sold a little as well...couldn't resist. but i'll NEVER sell all of my CAU until the McDonald's project hold-up is resolved one way or the other. IF McDonald should get approved, CAU would trade at $45 overnight. no typo, it's actually a fairly conservative estimate of the project's value

Fortunately I have held my gold shares all the way through.

Gold portfolio made another new high yesterday and the the most speculative stock I own is NSU, still have some from the day I posted to you on the NSU thread at .13-.14.

Other than that its PDG GG and KGC and one other small one, AZS.

I am glad I have held these as I too have taken a few hits, though small, shorting the techs including it looks like the CSCO I took short yesterday at 21.70.

Now I see unemploment # is out and a big drop. BOE raises .25 and all Europe rallys hmm. I also have IBM and MSFT short both in the money now but everytime I think the market will cave in in just keeps on going.

I think AG/FED will have to raise in 1st quarter 2004 if not boy that USD will be getting killed. Yet if they raise economy gets killed. They are between a rock and a hard place.

Now with inflation looming with housing prices through the roof why is gold off. Gold market cant still be looking for deflation in the short term?
