If you support lies, corruption and fascism in your government, do you not have a personal stake?

You'll say that there were no lies. But there have been many. They are documented here: bushlies.com

You'll say there is no corruption. But no bid contracts to Haliburton, White House leaks outing a CIA operative and allowing undue influence of the INC, which is made up of liars and special interests.

You'll say there is no fascism. But what is it called when you invade another country, and then try to install a government of your design? To impose a form of government on another people?

I agree with McCain when he says that self determination is what is needed in Iraq. The sooner the US lets the Iraqis take care of their own business, the better.

McCain also argues that the conditions for allowing that self determination are not ideal at the moment. He recommends that more troops be sent to secure the peace. You can't have peace when loyalists and terrorists can operate at will in the country, bombing and shelling.

Since we have entered Iraq, it can be argued that we need to complete the mission. Failure to do so would likely lead to even greater tragedies. We are in this mess, so now we need to do the right thing.

It is clear that there are not enough troops in Iraq to get the job done. This job could have been better handled by a large international force, but failing that we need to have enough force in Iraq to absolutely stop all terrorist activity. Failure to do that continues to put at risk the soldiers that are there now. Bush is calling for a reduction of 20,000 troops. I don't see how this will help secure the peace.
