perhaps you need to start with a definition of "humane"?

hu·mane ( P ) Pronunciation Key (hy-mn)
adj.
Characterized by kindness, mercy, or compassion: a humane judge.
Marked by an emphasis on humanistic values and concerns: a humane education.

:-) I like that bit about humanistic values.

humane

\Hu*mane"\, a. [L. humanus: cf. F. humain. See Human.] 1. Pertaining to man; human. [Obs.] --Jer. Taylor.

2. Having the feelings and inclinations creditable to man; having a disposition to treat other human beings or animals with kindness; kind; benevolent.

Of an exceeding courteous and humane inclination. --Sportswood.

3. Humanizing; exalting; tending to refine.

Syn: Kind; sympathizing; benevolent; mild; compassionate; gentle; tender; merciful

"I wasn't alleging anything."

On the contrary, you have alleged that I have no compassion or respect for women caught up in the tragic circumstances that would put them in a position to be considering a PBA. It appears you have pointed that craggy finger at all who would oppose PBAs.

In the context of those comments we have taken a list making tangent. I assume the context is still being held available for application.

I am not comfortable with the comparisons you are making. I have three daughters. I love each equally and have the same regard for their humane treatment. However, when my High Schooler got a car of her own, I did not go out and buy my first grader a car or spent an equivalent amount of money on her. Am I giving them unequal treatment or simply treating them differently as their needs dictate?

Putting a dumb animal out of its misery when it becomes lame is far different than putting a child to death when it has become disabled. The two are not equally humane. The comparison is a bird walk as far as I am concerned but if you want to continue exploring it, I will continue to respond.
