As an addendum to our recent discussion, an anecdote. I had lunch today with a friend who listens to way, way too much talk radio and who has consistently voted Republican for as long as I have known him. I was sharing with him the part of our discussion where I opined about best and worst presidencies during my lifetime, which is seven years shorter than his. He startled me by saying that Bush getting into Iraq without a solid exit strategy was "downright criminal." Just FWIW.
