You provided no evidence that it does not prolong the life but that is a tangental issue anyway.

”I'm questioning the burden on the caregivers, presumably hospitals, the suffering of those who watch the baby suffer before it dies, and of course the suffering of the baby itself, which we can only hope will have a mercifully short life.”

The following is not about a disabled child but it is approving killing children for the benefit of others.

”There are examples of killing to save the group. Every war has its stories about refugees hiding out, being approached by soldiers as a mother smothers her crying child so the group won't be detected. I'm hard pressed to condemn that.”
