lol, harsh medicine. So in Illinois you have to have a Firearms ID to be in possession of handguns? I don't think Illinois has concealed carry. Now lets talk about what the lawmakers say the purpose of the FOID is. Is it another technical hurdle to jump over that allows the unsuspecting like your cousin to be charged with a felony for not having one or not being in possession of one? When would anybody ask you for one? When you go to the range do they ask to see your FOID and what does it prove? You have firearms training? You weren't a felon at the time the ID was issued? I certainly don't see how such an ID would ever solve a crime. If you get one for simply filling out a form and paying a fee, then its TAX on a constitutional right. Thats WRONG! Sounds like a way for the jack booted thugs to differentiate you for "special" treatment in the future sorta of the same way Hitler required Jews to wear yellow stars.
