Bush was no pilot. I already posted from awolbush.com the eyewitness story from 1976 proving Bush didn't even know how to fly a small Cessna then. He may have logged some time in trainers with a trainer beside him, but never flew solo and never got close to combat. He ran before they could grab him for duty. AWOL deserter.

I believe he was at Harvard Business School during that year. You don't understand how the Reserves work do you. I spent about 10 years in the Reserves. After you do the number of years you are required to do, you can quit the Selected Reserves (drill once a month) at any time. Thats what I did. I was required to do 6 years in the Reserves. Also when you move, you basically quit your current selective Reserve unit and have the option of affiliating at a new one at your new residence or you can just go inactive and try to find a slot later one.
