Saddam was pretty much bottled-up for the last 10 years. There was no reason to stop that. It would have been a lot cheaper -- after all, President Clinton didn't go before Congress every couple of months asking for huge gobs of money to enforce the no-fly zones. AND it would have saved so many of our soldiers' lives.

No there is also the argument against unilateral invasion.

There could have been a concerted effort by all the nations of the world to clean out Saddam, and to fight terror in other parts of the world. Can you imagine the power of the US, Brits, Aussies, Chinese, Russia, the whole of the EU and a few others too?

We would now be waging the war on terror in Syria and Iran. Instead we are bogged down in a "tough slog" in Iraq with minor assistance from the Brits.

It's clear that Bush has screwed up the entire war on terror. What an idiot!
