Yes, Japan tried but they failed. The reason for Japan could invade China was due to the weakness of the then Chinese gov. If China had a strong gov. then, Japan would not be able to invade. So unlike you who think Japan was writing Chinese history, I think China wrote its own history, a shameful 100-year of history, starting from those corrupted and incapable Qing dynasty! But there is no use to blame those imperialists. Imperialists would always be there, 1,000 years from now, they would still be there. So as long as China takes care of itself, then no one could even attempt to write China's history.
