He's chief economist at the MBA. His job duty is to be bullish on RE.

What a complete idiot the chief economist of the MBA turns out to be. Note that in the chat you quoted he said "than it use to be" not once, but twice. And he misspelled rephrase as "refrase." But worst of all he referred to "principle and interest." How can you be a senior executive in the mortgage banking lobby and not know that it's "principal"? I would normally cut the guy a break on spelling errors in an online chat, but some of the things he wrote about were just stupid, proving that the spelling errors were not typos but indicative of his overall intelligence. I'm generally like him a cheerleader on the housing market but the kinds of obfuscation and flat-out falsehoods he was dealing out were pretty outrageous even for me. It was pretty obvious that he is unused to giving candid answers. Too bad.
