More to the point. Americans represent roughly 4% of the world's population, however, we consume over 40% of the world's good and services.

Right-wingers joking about energy waste is really stupid. Even Bill O'reilly took them to task for that. Wasting energy and resources is just selfish and short-sighted. This world is headed for crisis of enmorous proportions unless this generation starts making sustainability a priority. Bush does the opposite. Kerry is the one candidate who actually will institute a major program to get us gradually off Arab oil, then off oil-dependency altogether. Anyone who says it cannot be done is full of it.
