Yes and no. China is slowly opening its border for new blood despite its hugh population. For example, my friend in
China who is there nearly two years works with other guys (all bio tech research type) mostly from US and Australia.
There will also be reverse migration from US to China and so on.

On top of that, recently I read in an IEEE (regional) news letter gloat about its successful effort in reducing H1 visa from 195K per year to 65K per year. The pretext was to save engineering jobs in USA. They are also lobbying to impose large fee for H1B spouses and relatives. Actually, last year's H1-B visa did not get filled, it came close to 40K.
There is also a news blip saying that the number of students heading here is on decline. So this fresh infusion will depend on how attractive this side of the river looks from the other side. If it is perceived as desert brown such influx may not happen and hence accelerated decline in all other aspects.

As China grows, US return to its 'natural' size. Hence the overtaken will happen.

As I point out, if the US keeps up importing people, it's return to 'natural size' will be delayed. Which doesn't mean the US will be less rich or small it is just realative.

The beauty of the US is that they import all kinds of DNA into their borders and make them work for the progress of the country. China has only Chinese DNA to propel itself.

It will come a time that they will lack the new blood, new ideas, new guts to help them growth.
