I am not using that definition of Islamist. Islamism is a political program which purports to fix what's wrong with the Dar al Islam by returning in to the "original" 7th century interpretation of Shari'a, and for the people to submit utterly to a theocracy that will tell them what to do and how to live. The Taliban was Islamist. Osama bin Laden is (or was) Islamist.

Islamism is not a religion. It is a totaliarian political ideology that on examination has more in common with Nazism than with actual historical interpretations of Sharia.

Islamism as a form of totalitarianism, wrapped in the green flag of Islam.
