Good evening Jay,
The price oscillations of energy trusts are greater than those of rental real estate but IMHO it works out similarly in the long run. Non-trust companies are getting jealous, starting to hire lobbyists to oppose the very idea of trusts, but I personally don't think they will get anywhere. Canada's a semidemocracy; I think the numbers will prevail in this case. The government doesn't lose money, it just defers the collection, which after all serves the same political purpose as 401k, RSSP(Registered Retirement Savings Plan of Canada) etc. which is to placate well off professional people.
Chugs,
mb

Hi Jay.

Have you posted an investment analysis of SWP.b? If so, can you direct me to it, or to any such analysis.

Merci.

Glenn

CanROys vary about +/- 20-25% this is enough to make trading worthwhile, especially when there are opportunities like NEM,PD,N,in metals, CHN,GCH, in China shares whic will go up about 30-40% while can Roys are flat.

Buying the canroys at a low price also means a higher return, especially as prices move higher.
