<"We heard the garbage and the lies," retired Marine general Anthony Zinni told a group of Marine Corps officers Sept. 4, referring to the government's handling of news in Vietnam. "We saw the sacrifice, and we swore never again would we allow it to happen," said Zinni, who fought in Vietnam and went on to command all U.S. forces in the Middle East before retiring in 2000. "And I ask you, is it happening again?"

Dan Christman, a retired Army three-star general who served in Vietnam in 1969, says that if the United States is struggling to maintain order in Iraq a year from now, a battalion of dissenters could grow into a small army. "There are an awful lot of retired officers who agree with General Zinni," he says. "This really resonates.">

Nice to know you have so much faith in Saddam Hussein's honesty and good intent..

What dose that have to do with the comment....Let's rehash.

Why? After all, the peaceniks say he didn't have any connections with terrorism, and he was never an imminent threat to the US.. [Hawkmoon]

And it seems that they were right.

At a minimum, I would have expected you to agree with the "peaceniks" on imminent threat portion....After all the administration has recently emphasized that Bush never said Iraq was an imminent threat.

And I'm sure the UNSCOM inspectors who were kicked out of Iraq for asking that very same question would appreciate your post-facto acknowledgment of their own views at the time..

Which question are you talking about, your question or my question?

And I'm sure the UNSCOM inspectors who were kicked out of Iraq

The inspectors got out because the US was about to bomb Iraq.

And now maybe you should ask yourself why someone like myself should be required to brief you ....

You're neither required, nor have you told me anything I wasn't already aware of. I see no need to have a question as you've stated.

when you're "stumped" over "very good questions" that it seems the peaceniks are hell bent to utterly ignore or downplay.

You appear to be the one ignoring the questions.
