Bloom Is on the Economy

If the Democrats can no longer run on "the economy sucks" then I guess the next election will really be a referendum on Iraq and the WOT.

The current crop of Democratic candidates doesn't really sound ready for that outcome imo.

The good news will be even better...The extent to which the recently created temporary jobs are replaced by full-time jobs in coming months will be one clue to whether the recovery is really gaining speed.

The last few years of the Clinton term many employers hired temp employees rather than regular, full time. Obviously, when the R,FT employment becomes stronger as the economy creates new jobs, the US economy will be full steam ahead.

We are seeing the beginning of discussions about many jobs have become obsolete, but new ones are being created in their place. The unions have been trying to hold this discussion for many years. They are becoming obsolete, and don't want to hear of it.

In the recent past:
telephone operators vs cell phones
LD rates of $5-$10 a short call vs 5 cents a minute
nothing vs DVD's, and DVD recorders today
rabbit ears and glass tubes vs flat panels and satellite downloads
