Wonder if some bright person in DC has figured out the delta cost of a few cents more for lettuce, etc, versus the costs of the medical services for the illegals and their dependents.......????

Of course someone has. But cost benefit analyses don't make good sound bites and sound bites stir the public and the polls. Now if we could get Barbara Streisand to lobby for cheap lettuce, there'd be lots of attention to the issue.
