General Wesley Clark answered direct questions from young people in a town-hall style meeting in Boston featuring voters under 30 asking tough questions to the candidates on everything from foreign policy to computer preferences. Young people around the country e-mailed and text messaged questions to the candidates. Clark got a text message question, "Should the draft be reinstated?" "If you have a foreign policy that the public doesn't support, the answer isn't to reinstate the draft, but to change the policy," Clark said. Clark reminded the audience he did not support the optional war in Iraq from the beginning. Others in the audience questioned what Clark's policy would be toward gays in the military. "There are gays who serve in the military and they do a good job," Clark said. "When I'm president, I'll treat every man, woman and child with respect. And that includes allowing those who want to, to serve in the military." Clark said the policy of "don't ask, don't tell" doesn't work, and should be reviewed to find a policy that works. Clark told the audience he used PC's and didn't smoke marijuana. One audience member asked the candidates where they were when they were 20-years-old and if they thought they would ever be running for president now. "When I was 20 years old, it was 1965, and I was a senior at West Point," said Clark. "I wanted to serve my country. I never thought I'd be running for president. That same year I met a guy named Bill Clinton ... and I knew he would be running for President."
