I used to work with a Japanese/American guy who was always being mistaken for Mexican. I have three dance partners, sisters from Chile, who live in LA and vacation here. They pass for Polynesians perfectly.

On the reverse, my wife's boss is mixed Filipino and Mexican. Looks like a dark Spanish Mexican. He's married to a lily white lady of north Italian descent. Their daughter looks 100% Asian. Slanted eyes, yellow-olive skin, straight black hair and black eyes. Mixing up those genes sure blurs the lines. Derek
