I agree with your analysis here that the bombing has forced the hands of the SA monarchy. But I am reluctant to conclude that the bombing targeted children and women. I think it was a case of mistaken identity.

Don't you think that these continuous series of Al-Qaeda style bombings will force the US to abandon Iraq and refocus on the "war on terror". Would it be right to speculate that with the SA bombings, Russia, Germany and France along with SA and other countries in the Arab world will go against Al-Qaeda and let the US concentrate on Iraq.
