Hmmm. First you say I said things I didn't say, and now you clarify to what is actually quite close to my position.

I never said that the government should require abstinence. If you think I did, find the quote.

You agree that what I suggested is "an appropriate" way to live one's life. Which we agree on totally.

I'm not and never have advocated that the government enforce abstinence. Golly, I'm far too good a libertarian for that.

But I DO say that it offers an appropriate lifestyle which society (which is very different from government) should encourage. What the government should do is simply say that if you choose NOT to live that life, and if you choose to act in a way that creates a life, then you do not have the option to say "oops" and destroy that life.

You make your choices, and you live with the consequences.

That's a pretty reasonable notion, I think.
