Gore was talking about W's tailhook landing on the Aircraft carrier. The carrier was only 35 miles off the coast, not the 150 miles which they said required a tailhook landing for the president. You have the president walking around the deck in a flight suit, giving a speech in front of a big banner saying Mission Accomplished. That's clearly politicizing the war. I guess for all the media and the rest of the staff, a helicopter transported them just fine. Bush needed the jet for some reason. Orca
