What about social skills? A lot of these home schooled children are being raised in isolation from their peers, sometimes by religious nuts. I cannot honestly believe they are learning much about interacting.

We have that in our school district. We have a whole school dedicated to supporting home schoolers. I taught there last year part time, supporting home schooled high school students.
