Many people that "grew up in the Church" are homosexuals and some of the clergy are homosexuals too. Growing up in the church has little to do with whether one becomes a homosexual or not. Sadly those gay people that did grow up in the church are also often saddled with deep guilt over their sexual orientation. Often this causes them to lash out against even their own kind, calling for the most severe penalties for their crimes, even death. Or it can lead to sexual molestation of young members of the Church. Unfortunately the Church is not always the best place to foster a healthy normal attitude towards sex. I have a feeling that most sexual deviants got their start growing up in the church. Either by fascination with the taboo, or in coming to grips with their guilt over sex. Orca
