You're viewing the world from a Bay Area perspective, and, being the most liberal part of a very liberal state, not at all representative of the country as a whole. You're seeing trees and not the forest, IMO. But.... we'll just have to see how it all plays out.

I often wonder how hermetic the bubble the Bush-monkey lives in is. He's said he doesn't read papers or watch TV, so if we take him at his word, he gets ALL his news from Carl, Dick, Condi, Rummy and Laura. Hopefully, Laura reads some papers and watches a little TV.
I used to work at the LBJ Library, and he watched all three networks almost all the time when he was in the Oval Office, according to the replica there. It gave him the sense not to run again.
