This is a complementary rather than competitive technology for the exploitation of stranded natural gas. The process to convert natural gas directly to a hydrocarbon liquid has been understood and available since early in the 20th century. Two German chemists named Franz Fischer and Hans Tropsch developed a method of producing a synthesis gas (Syngas: CO+H2) from naturally occurring gas. This gas can be used to manufacture a range of hydrocarbon liquids (diesel/ petrol) with the aid of a special catalyst(cobalt/iron). The most significant advantage of the gas to liquids process is to produce a 'clean' hydrocarbon liquid ready to be sold into the market. The second advantage of the process is that it yields clean fuels or those that have a lower impact on the environment when burnt. There are requirements by most industrialised nations to cut the levels of sulphur in diesel. The Fischer-Tropsch process manufactures diesel with zero sulphur. The following summarises the types of products that can be made using the Fischer-Tropsch and GTL technologies. Gas to Liquids (GTL) is obviously highly speculative and untried, per the various filings. However, it might have a future even so i do not doubt gtl will at some point be useful somewhere, somehow. i'm all for new technology in evry industry. that's not my issue with IVAN IVAN has clearly IMO pumped their stock via BS press releases including misleading promotion of GTL projects. the fact is, large scale, nobody knows if it will work and it will take a GREAT deal of money and time to determine. IVAN does not have the money to develop it, and 7 years of trying suggest no real playah in the oil biz is going to dedicate the chunk of cash needed to gamble on it either. IVAN used it as a promotion to sell stock. bottom line. pathetic behavior. the lesson here is - that's IVAN's game. use borderline fraud to raise money. make investors take risk by selling them a pig in a poke and hope you hit the mutha load to pay them back... if not. move on to the next public company and start up the pr machine.
