Gore is a special case. He was cheated our of the White House and actually beat Bush. With Clark instead of Lieberman, he could be a winner. But he'd only run if Dean gets out of control. That hasn't happened yet.

Nixon was a former Veep who lost then won - twice.
So your history is inaccurate.
