For Veteran's day, I don't think I can do better than William Shakespeare’s play, Henry V.

This day is called the feast of Crispian:
He that outlives this day, and comes safe home,
Will stand a tip-toe when the day is named, . . .
He that shall live this day, and see old age,
Will yearly on the vigil feast his neighbours,
And say ‘To-morrow is Saint Crispian:’
Then will he strip his sleeve and show his scars.
And say ‘These wounds I had on Crispin’s day.’
Old men forget: yet all shall be forgot,
But he’ll remember with advantages
What feats he did that day: then shall our names. . . .
This story shall the good man teach his son;
And Crispin Crispian shall ne’er go by,
From this day to the ending of the world,
But we in it shall be remembered;
We few, we happy few, we band of brothers;
For he to-day that sheds his blood with me
Shall be my brother; be he ne’er so vile,
This day shall gentle his condition:
And gentlemen in England now a-bed
Shall think themselves accursed they were not here,
And hold their manhood cheap whiles any speaks
That fought with us upon Saint Crispin’s day.

You must have just loved these announcements by osama bin lost.

In other words, they talk that way, so we can talk that way too. The reasoning of a 4 year old. We're supposed to be unlike them, remember?

When an American in uniform exercises his rights to free speech or freedom of religion, it is a story only if you are bigoted, prejudiced or believe US military personnel have no rights.

The public comments of a public official are a legitimate subject for public discussion, in or out of the media. Can you think of any particular reason why that should not be the case?

"My God is bigger that their God" is an idiotic thing to say, no matter who says it. I expect idiocy from Osama and Co. I expect a little better from our side.

Maybe my expectations are too high.
