I feel for these guys. And I know they passed the PT test. But no matter what shape you are in, exhaustion sets in over 40. I don't think we should send anyone in over that age. That was one reason for the pension at 20 years. Age discrimination??? Are you prejudiced? LOL We need some older well-experienced folks at all enlisted and commissioned command levels, especially in war zones. And remember that 49 YO is a volunteer...he could have opted out long before, if he felt he couldn't hack it. Over 50% of the men serving on A Teams today are eligible for retirement with over 20 years service. They are the old hands...the grey beards... that everyone else leans on when the going really gets tough. We need them. I cannot imagine firing them for ageing out.
