Last I heard, the Blair administration wouldn't even acknowledge that the Niger documents were forgeries. Jack Straw wouldn't even answer a direct question on it. They were forgeries, they were obvious forgeries. The people that allegedly signed the documents, didn't sign them and they weren't even holding the positions that the documents reflected they were holding.

And that would be a shame. Tony Blair is one of the more eloquent and persuasive leaders the UK has had since Maggie Thatcher. I don't always agree with his politics, but I definitely agree with his foreign policy.

He was riding pretty high in the polls until the Brits decided he was heavily into deceiving them.
