Of course it is unavoidable. The problem people don't seem to understand is that the other side is really fighting a war, and they do not care at all about "innocents." They simply fight their side of the war. And yet Israel (and even America) is not allowed to fight the war at all. At best it has to hit empty buildings. When it inadvertently hits an Arab, then the world goes bananas, as if no war is being fought. I do not advocate the intentional killing of any innocent being. But when a war is being fought against a state, that state has a duty to itself to defend itself. War is barbaric. People, innocent people, get killed in it. That is all the more reason not to fight wars. But if one side is just determined to fight a war, you have no choice. Fight it, get it over and then try to heal. The world needs to get off of Israel's back. She didn't ask for all the crap the Arabs have been throwing at her since 1948.

First of all, it is not easy to find 1000 together or the Israeli's would have done it. And they are not hiding behind the civilians, they are hiding "among" the civilians which is what guerrilla's, insurgents, rebels, etc. do. The civilians are supporters. Any of our home grown idiots are insignificant. Anyhow, you've reinforced my point....
