"Provide us PROOF of that from an official, non-private site such as a municipal, state or federal law enforcement"

I don't think there is one. Why don't you debunk the private report that has been done if you think it is wrong. I haven't read it, but with 350,000,000 people in our country, 2,000,000 does not seem that unreasonable. I did see recently that in the case where a professor and mate were killed by a couple of teenagers back east it was the second attempt by these two a**holes. They went to another family a couple of months earlier and bolted when a gun was drawn. Didn't make it in the main stream news though. Why?

Because liberal media does not want you to see stories like that.

You're pre-assuming that people report every incidence to the police. I know when I was pursued by a gang of thugs about 10 years ago that I didn't file a police report when I brandished and then got in my car and drove away. I know a good friend of mine didn't call the police when he brandished to get two thugs to stop pushing his father around in front of his own house. The 2 million comes from surveys of the general population at large to relate incidents from their own experience and then extrapolated based on the survey out to a larger population. And themedia doesn't regularly report brandishings because quite frankly its not news-worthy. The ones that do get reported are the ones resulting in a justifiable homicide. There were 83,000 of those by Bureau of Justice Statistics numbers in 1997. Estimates show that only 3% of incidents of self-defense result in justifiable homicides, so the vast majority of defensive uses go unreported, but the national surveys by Dr. John Lott showed this.
